PageRank 5 In Less Than Two Months
The proof of the pudding… is in seeing that our methods work.
The SEO and More site went live just after the 25th of August, 2005, and in less than two months, we already have a Pagerank of 5.
You know how much webmasters struggle (for years sometimes) to get a good Google PageRank, so I’ll bet you’re wondering what methods we used to achieve this. Why, the same ones we use and recommend to our clients.
1. Article marketing
2. Press releases
3. Blog and RSS feeds
4. Directory submissions
No black-hat stuff, reciprocal linking, link purchases or anything that could even remotely get us banned. You can see why we’re smiling so much…

PR is just eye candy these days. If i google the term SEO and MORE your site doesnt even feature on the first 10 pages.
The only reference to your site is the prweb press release which will last there for a week or so.
So for what term does your site rank highly?

Dear Josh,
I am aware that PR doesn’t mean much to SEOs, but it does still mean a lot in terms of branding.
Besides the point I was trying to make was that with perfectly legitimate methods that use content as a strategy, you can build a large number of quality links to your site in a short time. You don’t need to buy links, use reciprocal linking or any other methods that will get you in trouble with the search engines.
Our domain is only 2 months old and still in the sandbox. The terms we eventually need to rank for are extremely competitive, so it would be unrealistic to even expect traffic from Google for those terms so soon. However, we expect to get traffic from MSN and Yahoo in the coming months since they are easier to target for competitive terms.

Congratulations. While I tend to take PR with a grain of salt these days it’s a nice feeling to get a high one.
I wouldn’t be too excited about it though - we started a number of blogs that went from 0 to 6 and 7 in a four week period while I have other blogs that get heaps more traffic and rank higher in SERPs and didnt budge from lower PR.
As I say - enjoy the numbers - but it’s not worth getting too bogged down in them.
Have a nice weekend!

Hi Darren, Nice to see you here
I don’t take PR too seriously myself. Trustrank and topical links are far more important. It was just to make a point that article marketing and press releases can really work to build quality links in a short period of time. Love your blogs!

Wow, with a cool blog like that, I’m not surprised, Joe.
As Darren said, its easy, but that’s something very few people know or understand.
